This light is well made and definitely was an upgrade to my home. It's build much better than my old old light. It was pretty easy to install and works great. The look of the light is great.
My porch light went out over a month ago and I felt unsafe, so decided to grab a new one. This one is even better then the one I had. It is a beautiful design, was easy to install and works perfectly. Lights up as soon as there is motion outside and is super bright. Very good price too, highly recommend.
Overall pleased with this light. It looks great and the finish seems fairly durable compared to other outdoor lights constructed from aluminum. I usually get 5-7 years out of my previously installed aluminum lamps before the aluminum begins to corrode or the paint system fails. This unit has a clear coat which will looks to me like it will last longer than the powder coat finishes that I have encountered in the past, time will tell. The lamp was easy to install, removal of the old unit and replacement with this one took me about 30 minutes. The bottom drops easily from the top to allow accessing the bulb. I did have to reverse the mounting plate as it was installed backwards with the grounding screw facing the back instead of the front. A minor annoyance. This is a large lamp and would fit well framing your front entrance or garage doors. I used it for my side entrance and it is almost too big. Overall recommend this lamp.
The media could not be loaded. What I like: Good size. Looks good. Bulb is weather proof/protected. Relatively easy to install (if on a flat wall). Seems to be a solid design, but also not overly heavy. A nice option if you need a new outdoor light.Other thoughts: The screws used to attach the mounting plate were too short. We had to use screws from the old light that we took down, and luckily those were long enough. The reason I think they were too short is because we mounted it on a brick wall, which (obviously) isn’t flat. If you are not using a flat wall, you may have a similar issue. Also, because the wall isn’t flat, there will be a gap between the lamp body and the wall, possibly allowing the elements (weather) to get into the wiring area. This can be fixed with some silicone caulking, but be aware you’ll need to buy this. The lamp body that goes up against the wall isn’t very wide, it barely covers the mounting plate… it does cover it, but it’s a pretty tight tolerance. Finally, be aware that although it says it can be used with a dimmer switch/bulbs, it does not automatically dim, nor does it do dusk to dawn type functions. At this price point I would think that should be standard, but if you know this going in, you’ll be fine.Why it gets 4 stars: overall a nice product, but at this price point would have liked to have had dusk/dawn sensor and screws that are long enough when attaching on a brick exterior.UPDATE: when it’s time to change the bulb and you need to take the lamp body off, you may want to have drop cloth down below the lamp in case you drop one of the 2 little nuts that hold the body on. if there is grass or gravel below the light you may never find a dropped nut (a magnet helps with the hunt).
I have this at my front door, it is gorgeous, the motion dector works perfectly. Hubby said intallation was simple. True to discription and design. This light dresses up the entrace to my home, thank you!
This light fixture is stunning, it is massive and quite impressive, ready to make a statement at your entrance way! First off when I picked the box off my front porch I thought man this big box is light! I thought perhaps they forgot to put the fixture in the box, It came well packaged and is extremely light for its impressive size! The finish is beautiful and the light has a wonderful, wavy glass that is striking. I have already ordered a 2nd one. As we want 2 of these beast to grace our hand carved 42" door for our mountain home, which is currently being built! This fixture speaks volumes with it's charm and good looks not to mention the over all size of this beast of a light fixture! I can't speak of the ease of hanging just yet but imagine with how light it is, it will be easy to hang. I will update once we hang both up as well as with photos. So extremely happy to have found this stunning piece of entrance art!
