Beautiful heavy green ceiling light. The glass shade is very solid and heavy and a beautiful olive green color.I’m very excited to get it hung, but for “reasons” it isn’t going to happen for a while. My husband asked me if I’ll care if it casts a green glow over everything when we hang it. It’s going in a bedroom, not an office or an operating room, so I’m good with a green light if that’s what we get.For now this is what I have, once the light fixture goes up I’ll update my review. I’d say the light is worth the price for being so thick and well nearly, as well as beautiful.
Ok, let's get this out of the way. I'm rating this 5 stars because this fixture looks exactly as pictured and advertised.The glass is a beautiful green hue with the right amount of tint. Such a perfect high quality look!That being said, I am not a fan of the light that shines through the glass. First time using such a tinted fixture. It's hard to see in these images, but the light that transmits has a sickly green hue while the light that reflects out the ceiling is closer to your bulbs, actual color. This results in a very odd lighting situation that I just don't find aesthetically pleasing. At least in a white room. I wish I would have got the amber color instead, as that would cast a warmer and more natural color.Also, don't use traditional, frosted bulbs. I would only recommend 40 W max equivalent, translucent bulbs that show the filament. You can see in the images the very odd shapes that appear with traditional opaque bulbs.
Very heavy glass. This example has matte black hardware and green glass. Clear instruction sheet made assembly easy. Holds three bulbs, max 60 watts each. Dimensions are shown in pictures. Top of glass will be about 5 from ceiling. Bottom of glass will be about 10 from ceiling, I would suggest a minim ceiling height of eight feet. The glass is highly scalloped.
Heavy and beautiful BUT even with my brightest bulbs, it casts a very orange light because the glass is so thick. Returning. It would work perfectly in a room that had a lot of natural light or light walls.
This light fixture is a beautiful green color. It is very easy to install and well worth the money. Just gorgeous!
