I chose this wall light for the combination of affordability and style. Was easy to install if you've put in an outside lamp before, very straightforward. Looks great on my house, nice arts and crafts style that would look good on a modern or an historical house. The final thing on all outside lights is how well they wear... will update this review as time goes on.
Such an attractive outdoor sconce. I changed from a gooseneck light that only shined straight down. This light shines outward everywhere, lighting up the front of my house so much better! I've gotten so many compliments on the look of this light. I would recommend this to everyone!!
First the good: The lamp is really nice. I love the black and wood tones on it. The glass is thick and the whole thing is very sturdy. Now the bad: The mounting plate that came with it was terrible. It did not fit my round porch light electrical box. I had to do modifications to the mounting plate and the bolts that attach to it. In the photos you will see I had to cut the ends off the bolts so there would be room to squeeze in and be adjustable in order to attach the lamp. I also had to drill a 1/4 inch hole in the plate to get a bit of movement and adjustability to it to make everything fit. I had to add 2 nuts and a washer as well to make everything work. What really should have been a 10-15 minute job took me almost an hour. My house is about 25 years old so I think the electrical box is pretty standard. I'm not sure why the mounting plate did not have wholes and groves on it to fit correctly. All-in-all, now that it's done, I really like the lamp and it looks great on the wall.
