. The contrasting square and rounded elements are pleasing to the eye. Good quality construction and good materials. The "wood" is a finish on metal. Looks convincing at a short distance. Pleased overall. Especially for the balanced design that really enhances decor.
I went with he square one as I feel it offsets the curves of the back of the sconce and then throws a twist at the front. Even though it LOOKS like wood in the middle it's actually a thin sheet of metal colored to look like wood. There are pros and cons either way whether it was real wood or this metal. The light being white in color and the light being a white based light it glows quite well. There isn't anything to assemble it comes already together and ready to mount which makes installation a breeze. It's a nice sized sconce and the build quality and metal seem to be pretty darn good. It looks great once installed. Installation. If you ever have installed a light fixture then this will be an easy task for you. If not, just follow directions and follow all safety protocols for dealing with high voltage wiring (house wiring) and turn off the breaker to the place you are installing it. The white metal plate behind the wood plate also helps increase luminosity of the light so it has a good amount of light shining around. My lumens meter died on me waiting for a new one but might update this review once I get a new one. It looks cool to me. I like the unusual design and it stands out. If you like the look of it, then this is for you. If not, well maybe go with the round center one. Price to Value Ratio (PVR, my rating system) = GOOD. Meaning this is a buy and does it's job.
Looks fine, but I was hoping it would look more like the first picture, where there is the darker outline on the vertical oval shape. Instead, that oval rim is completely white. Maybe they got that picture at the perfect shadow, but I can't replicate that look during the day nor at night. Good for the price!
