THIS MOTION SENSOR WAS INSTALLED IN MY BEDROOM IT HAS BEEN A LIFE SAVER FOR ME AS I DONT HAVE TO HAVE LIGHTS ON DURING THE NIGHT. THE SENSOR WILL COME ON BRIGHT AS YOU ENTER THE ROOM. EASY TO INSTALL LOOK GREAT AND PERFECT FOR SPARE BEDROOM.
I got this light for the entryway, where I'm always fumbling to find the correct key and get it in the lock. It looks nice and does the job, although installation was a little tedious and functionality is very basic. As far as installation, I was replacing a porcelain light bulb socket, so the box and wiring were already in place. Mounting the base and connecting the wires were no problem, but when it came to mounting the fixture to the base, it got a little tricky. The fixture mounts to the base with two Phillips head screws that go in from each side. Because of the low profile of the fixture, it's impossible to get your hand in there to hold the screw, and you have to get your face up against the ceiling to even see where the screw goes. I couldn't find my screw holder, so I used the old trick of taping the screw to the end of the screwdriver to get it started. I got it together, but only after a bit of fumbling and cursing. Once installed, it works as expected. If it's dark and there's motion, it comes on. With no motion, it turns off after 35-45 seconds. It's plenty bright without being overpowering, and while I might have liked a warmer light, it's not too harsh. Unfortunately, unlike other motion sensing fixtures I've used, there is no provision for setting the 'on' time, nor is there a way to keep it on indefinitely if desired. That said, it's fairly inexpensive and for my application, it gets the job done.
